Nico Rosberg has revealed that Mercedes came close to not doing its final runs in qualifying for the British Grand Prix, which would have cost it pole position.
The changeable conditions in the closing stages of qualifying at Silverstone caught out Lewis Hamilton, as he aborted his last run after mistakenly thinking the weather was getting worse.
And although Rosberg seized on Hamilton's error to steal pole position, he admitted that it had been touch and go as to whether or not the team would bother going out at all.
'It was a really close decision and just everybody together, we made a group decision and it was the right call definitely,' said Rosberg, when asked by AUTOSPORT about how near the team came to not going out again.
'The tendency was to stay in the garage, but a Michael Jordan quote came into my mind: 'You miss 100 per cent of the shots that you don't take'.
'I said that to the team - if we go out there is a small chance [of pole position], if we stay in the garage there is no chance.
'I was for going out and they thought about it and made the call to go out. It was great team work and a great decision in the end.'

Δραμα και εδω η Ρενο...

Suits λοιπόν παμψηφεί.
Το Σέρλοκ πράγματι το 'χουμε δει.
Και το Newsroom φαίνεται πολύ καλό, εμένα θα μου αρέσει σίγουρα.

Θα πω κι εγω τα τετριμμενα.
Σιγουρα η προκριση ειναι (μεγαλη) επιτυχια.
Σιγουρα τετοιες ευκαιριες για να περασεις στους 8 εμφανιζονται καθε 50(;) χρονια και δεν πρεπει να χανονται.
Σιγουρα επρεπε να τους καθαρισουμε στην παραταση, οταν ηταν νεκροι σωματικα, και οχι να παμε στη ρουλετα.

Ειναι αστειο να βριζουμε τον Σαντος, ο ανθρωπος εχει ενα συστημα και με αυτο ολοκληρωσε εναν πολυ θετικο απολογισμο.
Η ελλειψη ενος φορ ηταν ολοφανερη, αλλα ο Μητρογλου, που θα παιξει αυτον τον ρολο στο μελλον, ηταν εκτος φορμας, ο δε Γκεκας εκτος εποχης. Ο Αθανασιαδης πιστευω κι εγω οτι 'χωρουσε'.
Χολεμπας, Λαζαρος ηταν σπουδαιοι, ο Κατσουρανης πολυ καλος, το ιδιο και ο Σαλπι, που κανει φοβερη δουλεια που δεν φαινεται. Και η αμυντικη διαταξη Μανωλας-Σωκρατης-Μανιατης πολυ θετικοι, πλην του κακου (χθες) Τοροσιδη και του μετριου Σαμαρη, που δικαιολογειται λογω ηλικιας.

Προσωπικα θα χαρακτηριζα MVP του τουρνουα τον Σαμαρα, που ετρεξε πολυ, σε οποια θεση και αν τον εβαλε, και πετυχε ενα πεναλτι που θελει πολλα @@. Ο Καραγκουνης συγκινητικος, ζωντανο παραδειγμα για τους νεους και τον Διαμαντιδη.
Συνολικα μπραβο τους, πολυ καλη παρουσια.

Η Κοστα Ρικα με 10 εκανε οτι μπορουσε, οπως πχ εμεις με την Ιαπωνια, και μπραβο τους. Αποδειχτηκε χθες οτι ειναι μια καλοδουλεμενη, αλλα περιορισμενων δυνατοτητων ομαδα και πολλοι στην Ιταλια, την Αγγλια και την ΟυρΑγουαη (κατα Τσιωλη) θα επρεπε χθες να κανουν χαρακιρι.

Ψαχνω για σειρα να βλεπω με τη συζυγο.
Ενδεικτικα μας αρεσαν απο τα τελευταια το Americans, το House of Cards, το Homeland και πιο light το Good Wife, το Mentalist και πιο παλια το House MD.
Δεν μπορει να βλεπει σειρες με ναρκωτικα, κακοποιηση παιδιων και υπερβολικη βια (οποτε Game of thrones, Breaking Bad, the wire, true detective κτλ ειναι off και τα βλεπω μονος).

Θα ηθελα προτασεις, αλλα για σειρες που εχουν ολοκληρωθει μονο, παρακαλω.

Καταλαβαίνω ότι είναι βαρύ να καταπίνουν κάθε τριήμερο το πικρό ποτήρι όλοι όσοι ονειρεύονταν δωρεάν μαθήματα καμα σούτρα του φινλανδού στον ισπανό.......

Αυτο δεν νομιζω οτι το εχει γραψει κανεις εδω μεσα, αλλα δεν πειραζει, αν σε βολευει, συνεχισε να το γραφεις.

Tην κουβέντα κακώς την ξεκινήσατε για ένα θέμα ήσσονος σημασίας.

Πλακα μας κανεις; Την κουβεντα ρε Αλμπα την ξεκινας και τη συντηρεις μονο σου, σε βαθμο ultra baiting. Ακομα και κανεις να μην σου απαντησει, πιστευω θα κανεις διαλογους με τον εαυτο σου για το θεμα...

Lotus could be set to switch from Renault to Mercedes power in 2015, well placed sources have confirmed.

Δεν νομιζω παντως η Mercedes να θελει (και να μπορει) να προμηθευει οσους την ψαχνουν τωρα, που ειναι στα πανω της. Αδειαζει βεβαια η 'θεση' της ΜακΛαρεν, αλλα η Λοτους δεν ειναι και ο πλεον καλοπληρωτης...

Σαν να τον σφιγγει λιγο παραπανω απο το κανονικο παντως...

Formula 1 chiefs move to avoid ugly noses in 2015

Formula 1 chiefs have agreed to a change of technical regulations for next year in a bid to get rid of the current ugly noses.

A quirk of the rules this season aimed at lowering the tip of the noses resulted in some controversial designs.

But on the back of criticism from teams and fans about the look of the cars, the FIA has now agreed to revise the rules for 2015 to try to eradicate the issue.

From next year, the noses will need to taper more linearly from the low tip to the front of the chassis.

As well as the new dimensional rules, there are also changes to make the crash test more progressive to prevent teams making the very end of the frontal crash structure too flimsy.

While the nose tip cross section remains the same at 9,000mm2, it will be lowered even further and will have to sit between 135mm and 220mm above the car's floor.

Furthermore, the tip must be no wider than 140mm, so teams will now have a choice of a wide flat nose, a tall thin one or rounded shapes in between.

Then the nose must widen to a second cross section 150mm behind its tip, which must be no less than 20,000mm2. Again a maximum width is stated of 330mm.

Both these cross sections will have to be symmetrical about the car's centreline, which effectively outlaws the Lotus twin-tusk style nose.

The remaining length of the nose going back towards the chassis must have a tapering cross section, so that the nose cannot suddenly slim or use concave shapes to reduce its aerodynamic blockage.

Lastly the rules prevent super short noses as used by Mercedes this year. The nose tip will have to start about mid-way along the front wing.

For the crash tests there are now demands for average decelerations for the first 150mm of the crash structure.

This means the thinner front section of the nose must be a useful addition to the crash worthiness of the car, rather than a thinner less structural part simply there to meet the geometric rules.

The result of this is that teams will have slightly less freedom to arrange the nose, while there will still be high or low noses, with flat or rounded shapes.

The variation will be far less than the visibly different concepts seen in 2014.

The way the new rules are worded means teams will most likely opt for a solution similar to the current Ferrari.

Δικαιωμα τους βεβαια, αλλα πιστευω πως ετσι συντηρουν την παραπληροφορηση, παρα το αντιθετο.

Εν κατακλείδει, για όλον αυτόν τον κόσμο, μόνο 'ευχάριστα' δεν είναι τα σημερινά 'νέα'.

Κι εγω στον Λουη το 'ριξα.

Πλησιαζουμε στη μεση του πρωταθληματος και παρα την κυριαρχια της Mercedes, για τον τιτλο των οδηγων στηνεται ενδιαφερον σκηνικο. Ο ΡΟΖμπεργκ μπροστα με αρκετη διαφορα και πολυ δυνατος, ο Λουης ταχυτερος αλλα με προβληματα αξιοπιστιας και ψυχραιμιας(;).
Ποιος προβλεπετε οτι θα ειναι ο τελικος νικητης;
