                Μπα όχι. Τα αλογάκια μαζί με το ERS (εξέλιξη του σημερινού KERS) θα είναι στα επίπεδα των σημερινών V8. Που σημαίνει ότι το θερμικό μοτέρ θα παράγει περί τα 600 άλογα από μόνο του.

                      1.6 V6 με μονό τούρμπο, όριο στις 15.000 στροφές και περί τα 600 άλογα (+120 άλογα για κάποια δευτερόλεπτα από το ERS). Δε νομίζω ότι θα βλέπουμε πολλές εγκαταλείψεις.

                        Ελπίζω τουλάχιστον όταν έρθει η στιγμή να επιτρέψουν μεγαλύτερη ιπποδύναμη, πιο κοντά στα φετινά επίπεδα.

                          Ecclestone threatens to sue FIA if 2014 engines flop

                          Bernie Ecclestone has warned the FIA that he will hold it responsible if ticket sales drop as a result of the 2014 engine regulations coming into force.

                          Ecclestone was very outspoken about the FIA's original plan to introduce four-cylinder turbos in 2013 as he was concerned about F1 engines losing their distinctive exhaust note. Earlier this month the F1 Commission put forward a plan to run V6s instead of inline-fours and the proposal was rubber-stamped by the FIA last week. The new formula will see drivetrains producing a similar amount of power but revving to 15,000 rpm, a drop of 3,000rpm from the current V8s.

                          But some of the circuits, led by Ecclestone's friend and Australian Grand Prix promoter Ron Walker, have recently threatened to switch their allegiance from F1 to IndyCar if the move to V6 turbos goes ahead as planned.

                          Despite Formula One running V6 turbos (and four-cylinder turbos) throughout the 1980s, Ecclestone, who was a team boss in that period, told the Independent: '[It] is not Formula One - it doesn't sound anything like Formula One'

                          He added that he would be willing to sue the FIA if the race promoters experience a fall in ticket sales.

                          '[The race promoters] believe these [new] engines will take away what people want when they go to Formula One races - the glamour and the noise - and therefore they won't be able to sell the tickets and they won't be able to pay us,' Ecclestone told the Independent.

                          'They have got a contract with me and if they can't honour it, because they aren't selling any tickets, I probably wouldn't hold them to it,' he said before adding: 'We may have to sue the FIA'.

                                Fernando Alonso has said his 2011 season will hinge will on an update at the British Grand Prix, but warned miracles are not possible.

                                Ferrari has been targeting the British Grand Prix as a turning point in its season for some time and Alonso said the success of an 'important improvement' would determine his ability to fight for wins this year.

                                'Everything depends on the car,' he told the Formula Santander website. 'If the car is equipped to win races, there is enough time to come back. But being on average one second behind Red Bull on all the times makes it impossible to come back. Therefore, right now, we are awaiting an important improvement to the car. If it arrives in the next few races we will be on fighting terms, but if everything continues to be the same, logically this is impossible. Miracles cannot be done.'

                                Asked if the update would be on the car at the British Grand Prix, Alonso said: 'Yes, England is a very aerodynamic circuit, very similar to Barcelona where we were very far behind and were lapped in the race. Therefore in Silverstone if we manage to be at the front, it means we have a very competitive car for what remains of the year, but if we are still so far behind, it will be difficult, and we will have to fight for partial grands prix victories: podiums, fastest laps and those types of more secondary things.'

                                Alonso has no wins to his name this season as the 2011 Ferrari has failed to deliver on the promise it showed in testing and the wind tunnel. But Alonso, who recently signed a contract with his team through to 2016, said he would not swap Ferrari for any other team, even Red Bull.

                                'Perhaps I'd have three or four world championships [at Red Bull], but I wouldn't be as happy as I am now nor would I be driving a Ferrari. I think that it is more important for a racing driver to drive for Ferrari than it is to have a world championship.'

                                He added: 'Ferrari is Ferrari. It is difficult to put it into words, but you are driving for the best car manufacturer in history and it offers you the opportunity to represent the prancing horse throughout the world, collaborating and testing the road cars they make. The private F1 teams or those which do not have a car brand behind them, are simply that, F1 teams, and Ferrari is much more.'

                                Alonso also revealed that he had not set foot in the McLaren motorhome since he left the team in October 2007. But he said he would not have a problem if his ex-McLaren team-mate Lewis Hamilton came to Ferrari.

                                'Why not? I have no problem with Hamilton and neither did we have one at McLaren. I have the absolute respect for him. As long as it wasn't at McLaren, sharing a team with Hamilton would be good.

                                'I don't have problems in sharing a team with anybody. I have been lucky to be with great drivers, although when they share with me it seems that they have lost speed and have become bad drivers. Therefore, I like to beat my team-mate, I like to race to the maximum and if a great driver comes and I also manage to beat him, perhaps what I do is valued more.'

                                        Newey also admitted he was mystified as to why the FIA has decided to ban something that had been legal up until now.

                                        'The obvious parallel is when active suspension was banned at the end of '93, where there was no regulation change. Ferrari couldn't get their active to work and suddenly it was illegal for the next year.

                                        'I'm slightly baffled by it because it's been declared legal forever until this race,' he added.
                                        My read of it would be that, of our main competitors, which are clearly McLaren and Ferrari, then Ferrari probably haven't got their exhaust to work that well so they are quite happy to see the back of it.

                                          Ξέχασε να μας πει ο πολύς κ. Newey ότι το 1993 το software για την ενεργητική ανάρτηση, μαζί και με πολύ βοήθεια στο hardware ήταν μια ευγενική προσφορά της British Aerospace προς την Williams GP, ενώ η Ferrari πάλευε μόνη της απέναντι στα διαστημόπλοια!!! Τώρα το παίζει έξυπνος και μάγκας;;;
