Williams will run in Bridgestone in 2006

Red Bull is another candidate. In Japan, the headquarters of Toyota is negotiating with Bridgestone as well. But Toyota would only change if Bridgestone would give them the same treatment as Ferrari.*

Μου κάνει εντύπωση που η Williams επιστρέφει στους Ιάπωνες. Δε θυμάμαι να έφυγε και με τις καλύτερες προυποθέσεις. Αλληλοκατηγορίες για απόκρυψη στοιχείων και δε συμμαζεύεται.

πάντως φέτος δε κατάφερε πολλά (φταίει προφανώς η συνεργασία σασί/ελαστικά). Επίσης, η Bridgestone δε θα κάνει τη ίδια μα....κία 2η φορά...

Παντως αυτο δεν μου αρεσει 'would only change if Bridgestone would give them the same treatment as Ferrari' και τι θα γινει το 2008 οταν ολοι βρεθουν με Bridgestone?

Τότε θα είναι controlled το ελαστικό, και όντως κοινό (και γνωστό) για όλους από πριν.

Και με controlled ελαστικό οι ύπνοι θα είναι δεδομένοι και απερίγραπτοι
Εμένα πάντως η απόφαση της Williams μου φαίνεται παντελώς λανθασμένη.
Η Michelin έχει διαλύσει τον ανταγωνισμό σε όλες της κατηγορίες (F1, Moto GP, WRC) και εκτός αυτού βοηθούν και έναν από τους κυριότερους αντιπάλους τους (Ferrari). Εκτός και αν το έχουν πάρει απόφαση ότι για τα επόμενα δύο χρόνια θα είναι στα χαμένα και κοιτούν πιο μακριά.

Μαλλον αυτη ειναι η αληθεια. Με κινητηρα Cosworth το 2006 και αγνωστο (Toyota;) ακομα για το 2007, και με το φετινο επιπεδο τους σε σασι-αεροδυναμικη, προφανως θεωρουν οτι το 2006 ειναι σιγουρα χαμενο και προσπαθουν να ετοιμαστουν για το 2007 και τους νεους κανονισμους-συνθηκες του 2008.

A new qualifying format consisting of two flying laps per car has been proposed by F1 drivers to the FIA, according to this weeks Autosport magazine.

The formula would allow a return to low-fuel, sheer-speed tactics, as opposed to the current format in which fuel loads are carried over to the race and thus speeds do not thoroughly reflect a car and its drivers full potential.

A one-hour session on Saturday would determine Sundays grid. The order for each cars number one attempt would be set by Saturdays free practice times, the slowest going out first.

After all drivers had their initial shot, the ones willing to take their chances on a second opportunity would be allowed to do so, again taking it to the track one at a time. Times from the first attempt would be secured, though, meaning that the majority of the grid would tend to go out twice.

Alonso eyes Ferrari future

Renault's title leader Fernando Alonso says he will consider moving to Ferrari after his current contract runs out at the end of next year. The Spaniard, 24, admitted to wanting to slide into the best formula one car -- whether it is painted blue or red

Asked if Ferrari would factor into his reckoning, Alonso told Autosprint: 'Today I say yes, because for the last five seasons they have always produced the most competitive car.'

Fernando, whose career is overseen by Renault boss Flavio Briatore, was quoted by the Italian magazine as saying that 'every driver' wants to hold the quickest car's wheel. He commented: 'But it's just a matter of time -- now, every driver would like to race in a Renault or a McLaren, because they are winning. I will analyse all available options.'

Alonso, though, recoiled at the prospect of Ferrari's 'number one' and 'number two' policy, expressing a preference for teammate equality.

He said: 'It gives good competition inside the team and increases each driver's motivation. I don't expect any gifts from my team-mate, and it's fine this way
