MONTOYA RULES
1 Montoya says his move in the European Grand Prix wasn't a lesson to Ralf or anybody else on how to overtake Michael Schumacher.
'I am not interested in teaching anybody anything,' Montoya said. 'The less chance that you gave him (Michael Schumacher) to show him where you are quicker, the better. You get there, have a chance, and you go for it.'
'People know when I am behind, if they make a mistake, I am going to go for it,' he said. 'I am not here to intimidate anybody but to race, and racing includes overtaking as far as I remember.'
2 The BMW-powered ace, though, refuses to admit that Nurburgring was a mistake.
'It was a passing move, and it paid off,' he said. 'It was fun to overtake Michael in front of all his German fans. It was great.'
3 'I've been a racer all my life and you have to stamp your authority on the track and show there is no inch given,' he told the British press. 'It's in my instinct to have a go and that's why we should all be in this sport. We aren't here to sit behind someone throughout a race.'
4 'Some drivers are scared they may have an accident if they try to overtake and are happy just to bring some points home. That's not my style. A win is worth a lot more than some points and that kind of thinking has helped me reach Formula 1.'
5 'I always look for the unexpected. I try and see where I am quicker than the guy in front and where I can take advantage,' he said. 'When that situation arises you stay where you are or go for it. I prefer the latter
6 Juan Pablo Montoya understandably hesitated when reporters questioned his sanity on Thursday. 'Am I mad? That's a good question. A little bit. Why what have I done?'
7 'If you have a problem with what I'm doing, talk to me, get it all out, then shut up.'
