Ενας από τους δοκιμαστές της Renault, στα ελεύθερα δοκιμαστικά της Παρασκευής για την JordanRenault test driver Franck Montagny has been called up to drive Jordan's third car in Friday's free practice session for the European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.
Montagny, who becomes the first Frenchman to take part in an official F1 session this year, replaces Dutchman Robert Doornbos alongside Jordan regulars Narain Karthikeyan and Tiago Monteiro this weekend.
“We have been working to give Franck the chance to demonstrate his undoubted capabilities at a race weekend and this is a good step for him,' said Renault F1's MD Flavio Briatore, who is Montagny's personal manager.
'In Friday practice he will be able to test the car in representative conditions.
'We are happy to be able to help Alex Shnaider and the Jordan team, who will be getting valuable feedback from a quick and proven F1 test driver who has experience with a top car and team.
'I believe this is a good opportunity for everyone concerned.”
Briatore is known to be pushing hard to find Montagny a race seat for 2005, which is believed to be a part of the driver's contract.
Montagny has not raced regularly since winning the 2003 Nissan World Series, but has impressed in his three years as Renault's test driver.
