Former British Touring Car racer David Leslie and sportscar team boss Richard Lloyd were among five people killed in a plane crash in Kent this afternoon.

David Leslie was best known for his nine wins in the British Touring Car Championship for Vauxhall, Honda and Nissan during the ultra-competitive Super Tourer era in the 1990s, but by the time he arrived in saloons he had already enjoyed a long and successful career in single-seaters and sportscars.
Leslie also ran the David Leslie Racing team with his father, David Sr, which launched the careers of several Scottish drivers, including David Coulthard, Dario Franchitti, Allan McNish.

Sebastien Loeb is aiming to be back in action at Rally New Zealand after it was confirmed that he won't compete in Australia at the end of the month.
'I will do my best to come back to New Zealand to win the championship,' said Loeb. 'Marcus (Gronholm) has an opportunity, but there is big pressure on him.'
New Zealand is the penultimate round of this year's championship in the middle of November, so Loeb still has a month to recover from his injuries if he is to make the event.

At the age of 18, Jaan Mölder is getting ready to make his Junior World Rally Championship debut with a Atolye Kazaz run Ford Fiesta Super 1600.

Atolye Kazaz Team of Turkey and Jaan Mölder will have the full support of M-Sport for the JWRC events.

The pair will contest six rallies throughout the season, starting with Uddeholm Swedish Rally in February, followed by Argentina, Italy, Finland, Turkey and Great Britain.
