Πραγματι στη μετα-Senna εποχη υπηρχαν ατυχηματα που πιθανον να ηταν μοιραια χωρις τις εξελιξεις στην ασφαλεια. Χαρακτηριστικα θυμαμαι αυτο του Burti που αναφερατε, του McNish στη Suzuka, του Fisichella στο MagnyCours (επισης 2 μετρα απο τον τοιχο), του Button στο Monaco και του Firman δε θυμαμαι που, τα περισσοτερα σε περιοδους δοκιμων.
Επισης μαλλον θα θυμαστε πως ο Barichello ειχε το πιο τρομακτικο ατυχημα της καριερας του πιο πριν στη Variante Bassa, οταν η Jordan του απογειωθηκε απο το κερμπ, εσκασε στην κορυφη της σειρας ελαστικων (που βρισκοταν 1 μετρο απο το δρομο) και τουμπαρε 2-3 φορες. Πολυ τυχερος που επεζησε.

Αν ο Ρατσενμπέργκερ για παράδειγμα είχε το HANS, δεν νομίζω να είχε σκοτωθεί... Δεν θα είχε σπάσει ο αυχένας του...

Επειδή ξημερώνει η 1η Μαΐου κι επειδή εκτιμώ πως σε ανθρώπους της ικανότητας και του μεγέθους του Σένα δεν αρμόζει να αναλωνόμαστε σε υποθέσεις και σεναριολογίες, παραθέτω ορισμένες ιδιαίτερες στιγμές τις καριέρας του, όπως αυτές παρουσιάστηκαν προ ολίγου στo PlanetF1:

NUMBER ONE
1993 Japanese GP: Jordan rookie Eddie Irvine is sitting alone at a table watching re-runs of his accident with Ayrton Senna and Damon Hill. Suddenly in bursts Senna. By the look on his face, it's obvious he's not there to discuss the weather with Irvine or see if Irvine's okay. But he doesn't even recognise the Ulsterman so he calls out to him and...
Irvine: 'Here!'Senna: 'What the **** do you think you were doing?'
Irvine: 'I was racing!'
Senna: 'You were racing? Do you know the rule that you're supposed to let the leaders come by when you're a back marker?'
Irvine: 'If you were going fast enough, it was no problem.'
Senna: 'I overtook you! And you went three times off the road in front of me, at the same place, like ****ing idiot, where there was oil. And you were throwing stones and all things in front of me for three laps. When I took you, you realised I was ahead of you. And when I came up behind Hill, because he was on slicks and in difficulties, you should have stayed behind me. You took a very big risk to put me out of the race.'
Irvine: 'Where did I put you in any danger?
Senna: 'You didn't put me in any danger?'
Irvine: 'Did I touch you? Did I touch you once?'
Senna: 'No, but you were that much from touching me, and I happened to be the ****ing leader. I HAPPENED TO BE THE ****ING LEADER!'
Irvine: 'A miss is as good as a mile.'
Senna: 'I tell you something. If you don't behave properly in the next event, you can just rethink what you do. I can guarantee you that.'
Irvine: 'The stewards said 'No problem. Nothing was wrong.''
Senna: 'Yeah? You wait till Australia. You wait till Australia, when the stewards will talk to you. Then you tell me if they tell you this.'
Irvine: 'Hey, I'm out there to do the best for me.'
Senna: 'This is not correct. You want to do well. I understand, because I've been there I understand. But it's very unprofessional. If you are a back marker, because you happen to be lapped...'
Irvine: 'But I would have followed you if you'd overtaken Hill!'
Senna: 'You should let the leader go by...'
Irvine: 'I understand that fully!'
Senna: 'And not come by and do the things you did. You nearly hit Hill in front of me three times, because I saw, and I could of collected you and him as a result, and that's not the way to do that.'
Irvine: 'But I'm racing! I'm racing! You just happened to...'
Senna: 'You're not racing! You're driving like a ****ing idiot. You're not a racing driver, you're a ****ing idiot!'
Irvine: 'You talk, you talk. You were in the wrong place at the wrong time.'
Senna: 'I was in the wrong place at the wrong time?'
Irvine: 'Yes. I was battling with Hill.'
Senna: 'Really? Really? Just tell me one thing. Who is supposed to have the call? You, or the leader of the race who comes through to lap you?'
Irvine: 'The leader of the race.'
Senna: 'So what have you done?'
Irvine: 'You, you were too slow, and I had to overtake you to try to get at Hill.'
Senna: 'Really? How did I lap you if I was too slow?'
Irvine: 'Rain. Because on slicks you were quicker than me, on wets you weren't.'
Senna: 'Really? Really? How did I come and overtake you on wets?'
Irvine: 'Huh?'
Senna: 'How come I overtook you on wets?'
Irvine: 'I can't remember that. I don't actually remember the race.'
Senna: 'Exactly. Because you are not competent enough to remember. That's how it goes you know.'
Irvine: 'Fair enough. Fair enough. That's what you think.'
Senna: 'You be careful guy.'
Irvine: 'I will. I'll watch out for you.'
Senna: 'You're gonna have problems not with me only, but with lots of other guys, also the FIA.'
Irvine: 'Yeah?'
Senna: 'You bet.'
Irvine: 'Yeah? Good.'
Senna: 'Yeah? It's good to know that.'
Irvine: 'See you out there.'
Senna: 'It's good to know that.'
Irvine: 'See you out there...'
[Senna turned away only to then turn back and flat-hand Irvine, who lost his balance and fell on the floor. Senna had to be hustled out.]
Irvine: 'Insurance claim there!'
Senna: 'You got to learn to respect where you're going wrong!'
NUMBER TWO
1984 Monaco GP: After qualifying 13th, Ayrton, driving for Toleman in his first season in F1, took his spot on the grid, in the pouring rain. Despite the circuit's deserved reputation for thwarting overtaking, and the awful conditions, Senna had already moved up into the top ten by the end of the first lap. By the 32nd he was on the verge of taking the lead off Alain Prost. However, the officials suddenly decided to stop the race and held out the red flag - just as Ayrton passed Prost for the lead. The race's results were determined by the positions at the end of the previous lap, which meant Prost claimed the victory and Senna was left fuming. It was, however, an astonishing and headline-grabbing drive by the then relatively unknown Brazilian.NUMBER THREE
1984 Dallas GP: Not, at first glance, one of Senna's finest hours as Ayrton had retired from the race after hitting one of the huge concrete blocks lining the street circuit. Returning to the pits he was still shocked that he had hit the wall and told his team: 'I know I didn't make a mistake - the wall must have moved.' He was insistent about this. And, it emerged, correct. For when Pat Symonds went to check the wall it 'had indeed moved - somebody had clearly clipped the previous block and in doing so, displaced the next one by only about 4mm, so the transition between the two blocks was no longer smooth but marked with a tiny step.'NUMBER FOUR
1985 Portuguese GP: Two races into his second season in F1, Senna claimed the first of his 65 pole positions (a record he still holds) at Estoril and followed it up with his maiden victory (the first of 41) despite the tricky conditions costing some of F1's top names' their race. In a lap that was all drama, the Brazilian clinched the P1 slot and by Sunday afternoon all those who had watched in awe as he sliced through the spray and the field to win the race were realising that they were watching a very special talent.NUMBER FIVE
1987 Belgium GP: The first start of the race was aborted after a huge crash on the second lap, and when it was restarted Nigel Mansell, who had led at the first start, found himself stuck behind Ayrton. Trying to pass the Brazilian halfway through the first lap he ran out of space on the inside resulting in the two colliding, and retiring. Mansell approached Ayrton after the race, grabbed him by the throat with one hand and slapped him around with the other. The Lotus' mechanics had to break the two up and they were later forced to publicly shake hands and apologise. Makes you wonder why there was such a fuss over Juan Pablo Montoya's post-Imola outburst, doesn't it?NUMBER SIX
End of 1987: Ayrton was locked in contract negotiations with Ron Dennis as he was looking to leave Lotus and head to McLaren. However, the two were finding it difficult to agree on the Brazilian's salary. They therefore opted to toss a coin over the last $500,000. Dennis won. 'It was only as I was driving away that I realised that it was a three-year contract and it was in fact one-and-a-half million dollars that we had thrown a coin for,' he recalls.NUMBER SEVEN
1989 & 1990 Japanese GP: It was at McLaren that Ayrton clashed with team-mate Alain Prost in a contest that, while not always sporting, was one of the finest the sport has ever seen. Having won his first World title in 1988, Ayrton needed to win the last two races to retain the World title. However it was Prost who led until six laps from the end of the season's penultimate race in Suzuka. Senna decided to overtake his team-mate, who refused to concede ground and turned into the first corner alongside Ayrton. The two collided and came to a halt. While Prost retired from the race, Ayrton was push-started by the race stewards and retook the lead to win the race. However, he was later disqualified and Prost won the title. The two clashed a year later at the same race, but this time it was a deliberate accident on Senna's part, resulting in him securing the title. And you thought Schumi was ruthless?NUMBER EIGHT
1993: During one race weekend when he was driving for McLaren, Senna complained to the team that there was a problem with his engine and asked them to change it. The team, though, couldn't find anything wrong but team boss Ron Dennis told them to change it anyway to keep Senna happy. So they did. And when they took the old engine apart they discovered a tiny crack in the crankshaft that the computers telemetry failed to pick up but which Senna did...NUMBER NINE
1993 European GP: Racing at Donington Park, the field qualifed on a dry track, but come race day the weather had taken a dramatic and severe turn for the worse. Although the rain had let up by the start of the race the track was very wet and the field cautiously began the race behind pole sitter Alain Prost. However, Senna, who had started fourth on the grid suddenly launched his attack, taking Wendlinger on the outside. He then went after Hill and Prost and by the end of the first lap was leading the race and driving off into the distance. All this in the pouring rain. It's widely considered to be the greatest first lap in the history of F1.NUMBER TEN
1994 San Marino GP: During qualifying at Imola, the day before Senna's own death, young Austrian driver Roland Ratzenberger was killed in qualifying. However, the Italian race officials decided to go ahead with the race on Sunday, it was Ayrton's last. When the Italian authorities examined his Williams after his own fateful accident they found a furled flag in the cockpit. It was the Austrian, not the Brazilian. Senna had planned to hold that flag if he won the race in remembrance of Ratzenberger.

Σημερα ειδα το αφιερωμα στο Senna απο το Traction. Ειχε τον τερματισμο της Βραζιλιας 91. Ακομα ειμαι σοκαρισμενος. ΑΥΤΟ λειπει απο την Φ1 σημερα. α) Ο τερματισμος του Σεννα β) Η επανοδος του ΜΗ μετα την Αυστραλια 95 γ) Η επανοδος του ΜΣ μετα το Silverstone 99.
Υ.Γ. Και να σκεφτει κανεις οτι υπαρχουν 'οδηγοι' που δεν ετρεξαν επειδη ειτε τους πονουσε η κοιλια (ΡΣ) ειτε τους εκανε βα-βα το Hans (JW). Αντε να παιξετε τις κουμπαρες παιδακια!

Κι εμένα το αφιέρωμα του traction πραγματικά με συγκλόνισε... Όποιος το είδε πιστεύω θα συμφωνήσει. Τα λόγια του Ayrton στη συνέντευξη, η συγκίνησή του μετά τη νίκη του στη Βραζιλία, οι τελευταίες του στιγμές....
Ήμουν μικρός τότε και δεν τις είχα δει, ούτε τον είχα ζήσει μέσα απ'τα γκραν πρι. Έμαθα γι'αυτόν αρκετά αργότερα. Ελάχιστα μόνο το όνομά του είχα ακούσει, μέχρι να χαθεί κάνοντας αυτό που λάτρευε... Αυτό που 'ήταν μες στο αίμα του' όπως δήλωνε.... Παρ'όλα αυτά θα τον θυμάμαι για πάντα ως έναν απ'τους καλύτερους οδηγούς και έναν -όπως διαπίστωσα σήμερα- εξαιρετικό άνθρωπο... -

Οντως πολυ καλο το χθεσινο αφιερωμα του Traction στον Ayrton Senna,επισης τελειο ηταν και αυτο του Alpha πριν απο την εναρξη του αγωνα του Αγιου Μαρινου.Βλεποντας το ατυχημα του Ratzenberger,πραγματικα ανατριχιασα!

Ετοιμάζω εγώ ένα dvd αφιέρωμα στον Σέννα. Εχω κατεβάσει όλες μου τις βιντεοκασέτες και τώρα κάνω το μοντάζ και την μουσική επένδυση. Δυστυχώς δεν έχω τα δύο αφιερώματα που λέτε και αν κάποιος μπορεί ας μου τα στείλει να τα βάλω κι αυτά. Το DVD θα το στείλω σε όποιον το θέλει με κόστος το δισκάκι και τα ταχυδρομικά έξοδα. Οποιος ενδιαφέρεται ας μου στείλει pm

Αν έχει κάποιος τα αφιερώματα του Αλφα και του Τράξιον με ενδιαφέρουν και τα δύο και εκ των πραγμάτων δεν είχα την ευχέρεια λόγω απόστασης να τα δω...

Αυτό που μου έκανε εντύπωση είναι ότι είδα αφιερώματα και στις ειδήσεις των ΝΕΤ, MEGA, ALTER, ΑΝΤ1, με καλύτερο μεταξύ αυτών του ΑΝΤ1.
Χειρότερο ήταν του ALTER που, εκτός από τη μικρή σχετικά διάρκεια, ο εκφωνητής είπε την Ταμπουρέλο ...Τουμπαρέλο!Θεός 'χωρέστον. Το ότι ασχολούμαστε μαζί του επι 10 συναπτά έτη είναι απόδειξη της μεγάλης του αξίας...

Δεν είναι ο δοκιμαστικός γύρος του '88, αλλά του '90!!!
Αν προσέξεις το αυτοκίνητο στο τούνελ θα παρατηρήσεις την αεροεισαγωγή ππάνω από το κράνος του Σένα. Η Μακλάρεν του 88, σαν τούρμπο που ήταν, δεν είχε αεροεισαγωγή πάνω από το κράνος του οδηγού, αλλά στο πίσω μέρος του σασί.
Κλασσικό βίντεο του 90, μην το μπερδεύεις με γύρο του 88. Άκου τον V10 της Χόντα. Τα τούρμπο μοτέρ δεν έκαναν έτσι.
Άσε που έχω κατεβάσει το βίντεο εδώ και 3 χρόνια και το έχω εμπεδώσει. Αποκλείεται να κάνω λάθος. -

Σημασία για μένα δεν έχει η χρονολογία αλλά το συναίσθημα που σου προκαλεί η εικόνα και ο ήχος.
Δεκα χρονια χωρις το Θεο.......
