Και να είναι σίγουρη πως θα τελειώσει τον αγώνα με τουλάχιστον 1 καθρέφτη σε κάθε πλευρά, επειδή πέρσι σε κάθε αγώνα έσπερνε κι έναν στην πίστα.

Ferrari matches lap record

It would be fair to say that eyebrows were raised at Sakhir this morning as Felipe Massa, on a qualifying simulation run in the Ferrari F2007, set a lap time of 1:29.989. This is within a fraction of his own fastest testing time from 2006 (1:29.958) and shatters the expectation that the rev-limited cars running now, with their Bridgestone ‘control’ tyres, would be over two seconds slower than those raced last season.

The next fastest times, both half a second behind Massa, come from the Renault pair of Heikki Kovalainen and Giancarlo Fisichella, with the second Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen a fraction behind them.

Fernando Alonso returned to the track after a break today, giving the McLaren MP4-22 a last day of testing prior to the trip to Australia, and has so far set a time that shades Raikkonen by mere thousandths of a second.

That the next car, sixth fastest Rubens Barrichello in the Honda RA107, is currently half a second slower than the four ahead displays the difference between the front three teams at present and the rest of the pack.

Raising eyebrows even further is Scott Speed, the young American placing the Toro Rosso STR2, with its Ferrari engine, in seventh fastest so far this morning, ahead of the two ‘sister’ cars, the Renault-powered Red Bull RB3’s driven by David Coulthard and Mark Webber. Speeds time, notably, was a further half a second slower than Barrichello.

Rounding out the top ten is Robert Kubica, he and team-mate Nick Heidfeld not showing the BMW F1.07’s usual blistering speed this morning as the team concentrate on the frequent hydraulic failures that threaten to get in the way of early season results, while Ralf Schumacher and Franck Montagny are hard at work for Toyota, and still well down the time sheets so far today.

It is probable that the time set by Massa will not be beaten as the temperature rises throughout the day here in Bahrain, but UpdateF1 will bring you a round up of the final day of testing later in the day.

'Massa was using the new aerodynamic package in the morning. In the afternoon Raikkonen went to use it. Massa set his fastest time with new tyres but Ferrari swore that the car wasn't actually in qualifying trim, that is to say: not just a little amount of fuel on board.

Massa: ''I'm satisfied. We have definately made a good step forward with the new aerodynamic package. In these six days we have been able to do a lot of running and put a lot of mileage on the engine. And without doubt the solutions we put on the car the last two days have been an improvement. In other words, we're ready for the first race.'' '

No problems for Massa in testing today
Today marked the end of a long test session at the Sakhir that involved nine teams over six days, preparing for the World Championship that gets underway on 18th March in Melbourne, Australia.

Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa, both ran with a new 056 engine today, completing all the F2007 development programme which the team had defined prior to arriving in Bahrain.

Massa finished his work even before the lunch break, which meant that, in the final part of the day, Raikkonen was able to go back to using the aerodynamic package that he had already tried on Tuesday. Both drivers worked mainly on finding the best set-up for the car.

Massa completed 45 laps with a best time of 1:29.989s, while Raikkonen put in 77 laps with a best of 1:30.534s.

For Massa, his time was the fastest of the entire test and was the fourth time in the six days that he topped the timesheets.

With winter testing now over, the team will be concentrating on preparing for the trip to Australia.

On Thursday 8th March at Fiorano, Luca Badoer will carry out the shakedown of the cars that will take part in the first Grand Prix of the year.

Οπότε τέλος στις χειμερινές δοκιμές...ότι έκαναν, έκαναν. Ουσιαστικά η επόμενη βδομάδα μένει...και σίγουρα η Ferrari θα κάνει κάποιο shakedown και system checks πριν φύγει για Αυστραλία!

Άντε πλησιάζει ο καιρός!!! (όχι τίποτε άλλο...λίγες μέρες μετά την Αυστραλία ξεκινάω και άδεια απολύσεως! )

Πέρυσι ο Μάσσα νέοπας είχε πάρει κάτι poles απο τον Schumacher.

Και δεν ήταν poles λόγω προβλήματος ή άλλης στρατηγικής. Μάλιστα είχε κάνει καταπληκτικούς χρόνους ο Σουμάχερ θυμάμαι και απρόσμενα τους κατέβασε κι άλλο ο Μάσα.

Μακάρι να συνεχίσει έτσι.

Και το πιο σημαντικό, μακάρι να είναι ισάξιες οι ομάδες οπότε να έχουμε ποικιλία και θέαμα.

Φυσικά απο αυτές τις δοκιμές νομίζω πως δε μπορούμε να βγάλουμε συμπέρασμα για αξιοπιστία και για φάγωμα ελαστικών κτλ.

Την ερχόμενη Πέμπτη 7 Μαρτίου η Ferrari με τον Luca Badoer θα κάνει το shackedown and systems' checks της F2007 πριν την αναχώρηση της Scuderia για τη Μελβούρνη.

Τη Δευτέρα αναχωρεί η Scuderia για τη Μελβούρνη!!
