Dennis says no driver decision yet
McLaren team boss Ron Dennis says they have not yet decided on their line-up for the 2007 season, amid speculation that Kimi Raikkonen will be announced as a Ferrari driver this weekend.
The British squad have yet to fill one of their seats, the other being occupied by world champion Fernando Alonso, who will leave Renault after this year.
GP2 championship leader Lewis Hamilton is the front-runner for the seat, with Dennis admitting on Friday he is under no illusions about Raikkonen's future.
The Briton says having Alonso is allowing them to consider their options calmly.
'We are clearly aware of where we are as regards our drive line-up,' said Dennis. 'We are very fortunate to have Fernando driving for us next year which gives us the option of choice as we have a dominant and competitive driver.
'We are under no illusions about how things will unfold with Kimi. So clearly he is an option but he is just that, he is an option.
'Along with Norbert (Haug) and Martin (Whitmarsh) we have avoided all talk about what role he (Hamilton) will play until after this weekend, he has a job to do which is to win the GP2 championship and when he has done we will look to the future.
'There are no decisions taken.'

Midland announces deal with Spyker
As reported exclusively earlier this week by F1Racing.net, MF1Racing has officially been sold to Spyker. In a delayed press release issued late on Saturday evening, Midland confirmed the deal. In2007 the team will be renamed Spyker MF1Racing. The Dutchman Michiel Mol made the deal possible and his consortium has acquired all the team's shares. The other good news is that Mike Gascoyne will join the team as the new Chief Technology Officer.

Klien dropped by Red Bull Racing
11/9/2006
Christian Klien has been dropped by Red Bull for the remainder of the season.
Test driver Robert Doornbos, a former Minardi driver, will step in to replace the Austrian in China, Japan and Brazil.
Red Bull have axed Klien after he turned down their offer of a Champ Car drive next season as compensation for losing his Formula One seat to Mark Webber.
Team boss Christian Horner said: 'Further to Christian's recent decision, we have released him to focus on the next stage of his career.
'Having done a solid job for us in the third car this season and having previously completed in eight grands prix, Robert is the logical replacement.
'He will start preparing for his Red Bull Racing debut at the team's test in Jerez this week.'
Doornbos, who has tested for Red Bull all season, is looking forward to getting back to racing in Shanghai in three weeks.
'It's fantastic to know that I'm going to be racing again, I'm really looking forward to it,' said the Dutchman.
'Friday testing and helping the team this year has been great experience, but to get back out on to the race track on Sunday is what it's all about.
'I've got to know the guys at Red Bull Racing really well this season, so I'll be working with them all closely to do the best job I can for the team and myself.'
Klien is tipped for a role with the new Spyker team after the Dutch sportscar maker bought Midland. -

World champions Renault will supply customer engines to one of Red Bull's Formula One teams next season, autosport.com has learned.
The French car manufacturer have signed a deal with the energy drinks company to provide V8 power units in 2007. However, it has not yet been decided which team will get these engines.
Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz flew into Monza on Sunday to put his signature on the contract after months of negotiations to secure power units for his teams.
Although it is not known when an official announcement will be made, Mateschitz has confirmed that a deal with Renault has been agreed.
'We will have two cars with Ferrari and two with Renault engines in 2007,' he said.
Mateschitz's intention is for the Renault supply to go to his main team Red Bull Racing, but such a move is dependent on Ferrari agreeing to release the Milton Keynes-based outfit from their current contractual commitments.
Ferrari have so far shown no willingness to negotiate on the terms of the original two-year contract that was signed last season.
Should a deal not be forthcoming then the Renault supply will go to Scuderia Toro Rosso, who are ending their contract for Cosworth V10 engines one year early.
It is understood that Red Bull Racing technical chief Adrian Newey has been pushing hard for a supply of Renault engines for the 2007 challenger that he is currently working on.
He is believed to favour the unit primarily because of its cooling characteristics, which would allow Newey to sculpt a more aggressively aerodynamic car.
