τα longruns του Trulli τι λένε κι αλήθεια??
Δεν ξέρω αν ο χρόνος που πέτυχε ήταν χρόνος εντυπωσιασμού (δεν το συνηθίζει καθόλου η Toyota), πάντως η ομάδα έχει ανακάμψει σχεδόν τελείως, με τον JT να δηλώνει για 1η φορά ότι ένιωθε πολύ καλά το μονοθέσιο και γενικά διακρίνω άλλον αέρα στις δηλώσεις και τα σχόλια των ανθρώπων της.
Βέβαια, στην Ίμολα η ομάδα είχε παραδοσιακά προβλήματα με τα ψηλά kerb. Δεν ξέρω αν η νέα εμπρός ανάρτηση που παρουσιάστηκε πέρσι στο τέλος βοηθήσει, πάντως εκτιμώ ότι ούτε εδώ θα δούμε την πραγματική δύναμη της Toyota, αλλά μετέπειτα στο Nurburgring και τη Βαρκελώνη.

Mosley holds firm on ECUs

FIA president Max Mosley has restated his determination to introduce standard electronic control units in Formula 1. A number of manufacturers are resisting standard ECUs and have lobbied Mosley to drop the proposal from the 2008 regulations. But, writing in his exclusive column in the latest edition of F1 Racing, the FIA president has reiterated his belief that the devices would bring major benefits to the sport. While acknowledging that standardisation would “cut off a significant area of road car-relevant research and development” for the manufacturers, Mosley argues that there is a fundamental distinction between the role of ECUs in road cars and F1 cars.

“At the most obvious level, the only brain we want in an F1 car is the driver’s brain,” he said. “For the past 12 years, therefore, we’ve been trying to prevent the use of on-board computers that help the driver drive. With a road car, however, the more help you give a driver the better. Computers can help him or her avoid accidents and compensate for their deficiencies. But F1 is a drivers’ championship, a sporting contest; we want the best man to win, driving the car alone and unaided. This debate goes back to the early 1990s, and I still have a Christmas card from Ayrton Senna containing a handwritten message saying that we must get rid of electronic aids in F1.”

Some manufacturers have argued that a ban on traction control could be effectively policed without the need to move to standard ECUs.
But Mosley doubts whether this would be possible, pointing to the example of a few years ago when traction control was officially outlawed but rumours of cheating were rife in the F1 paddock.

“Some manufacturers tell us we can prohibit traction control, launch control and other sophisticated driver aids, and they will give us fool-proof methods to check that the cars comply. But can they? Could we ever be completely sure that there was nothing hidden in the immensely complex software of their devices? We have laptops at the races, while they have almost unlimited resources in their research departments.”

Mosley says it is vital for F1’s credibility not only that teams are not cheating, but that there is no suspicion that they are doing so.

“With a standard ECU running on FIA software that cannot be altered, we can be absolutely certain there’s no cheating,” he said. “The teams will be able to map the system and set the car in any way they wish within the constraints of the fixed software, but they won’t be able to re-program the ECU.”

Nor is Mosley impressed by suggestions that the imposition of standard ECUs will prompt an exodus of carmakers from F1.

“Will this decision cause one or more manufacturers to quit F1? I don’t think so. Several teams currently run ECUs from two main suppliers, but the public probably don’t know and certainly don’t care which ECU is fitted to which car or who writes the software. If a major car company win the F1 world championship, the value of their victory will not be diminished because they used a standard ECU. Indeed, it might be enhanced – because no one will be able to claim they won it because of some ultra-sophisticated electronic cheating device.”

Το θέμα είναι τι θα κάνουν οι υπόλοιπες Ομάδες, που θα
εξαρτηθεί μάλλον και από την απόδοση της Ferrari.

Ο Γιάρνο Τρούλι , λογικά θα ανανεώσει με την Τογιότα μέχρι το 2009 .
Η Τογιότα , προσέφερε συμβόλαιο στον Ιταλό οδηγό που αν μείνει στην Ιαπωνική ομάδα , το συμβόλαιο του θα λίγει , μαζί με του Ράλφ !!!!!
Κι εκεί που νόμιζα οτι η Τογιότα είχε στόχο , να βρεί πρωτοκλασάτους οδηγούς ;;;;;
