        Q: Is the 2CV really a death trap in case of an accident?

        A: Actually the safety in a 2CV is quite good. Despite the look and flimsy structure of the car, the 2CV is surprisingly strong.
        Modern cars mostly do the 'Tank approach' - they are very heavy and create their safety by being solid. If you have an accident between these cars, it leads again to injuries. To avoid that problem, the manufacturers install electronic gimmicks and tons of airbags. What they all forget is that the most important piece of safety equipment is the one behind the wheel!
        The 2CV is very lightweight and has an incredible suspension. In an accident the 2CV is just pushed away by the heavier vehicle. In a standard accident scenario you have a heavy car against another heavy car. All energy is transformed into deformation and injuries for the passengers. The 2CV just gives way by being pushed away. Just picture yourself hitting a concrete wall with your fist - this really hurts. Now do the same with a punching bag. The bag is soft and it gives way - nothing is damaged and no injuries occur.
        The 2CV body shell was designed exceptionally strong with a minimum of material and weight. The passenger cabin has a rollover cage that holds the cabin in shape even in a rollover accident. The frame was designed to break in an accident. This directs the energy of the impact away from the passengers. The front end is pushed upwards to absorb the energy. Motor and transmission will not penetrate the passenger cabin. This is the factor that leads to injuries and death in other cars.
        In over 50 years of use, accidents are unavoidable. Experience proofs that injuries or death are rare in 2CVs. The insurance companies in Europe rate the 2CV as a very safe car. In Finland the 2CV was rated the safest car ever.

          Ειχε τρακαρει ενας θειος μου το 2cv του μετωπικη με ενα λεωφοριο.
          Ημουν μικρος αλλα θυμαμε οτι ειχε χτυπησει αλλα τοτε δεν φοραγαν ζωνη οι Ελληνες.

                Το 60 είχαν σκεφτεί τέτοια κόλπα?

                                        Asa Press) - Torino - Lancia Musa e Alfa GT si sono aggiudicate il premio 'L'Automobile più Bella del Mondo'.

                                        Giunto alla dodicesima edizione, il Premio ha visto la partecipazione di sessanta vetture realizzate nel 2004 dalle più prestigiose Case automobilistiche. Dai coupé alle cabriolet, dalle berline alle city-car, dai monovolume alle ammiraglie e alle supercar: tutti i modelli sono stati schierati nella piazza d’Armi del Castello Sforzesco di Milano ed esaminate da una Giuria Internazionale composta da critici d’arte, architetti e artisti. Tra questi veri e propri gioielli di car design si sono aggiudicati l’ambito riconoscimento Lancia Musa, nella categoria “vetture multifunzionali”, e Alfa GT tra i “coupé e coupé-cabriolet”. Con dieci punti, il modello Lancia è stato premiato per la sua personalità unica, prima vettura a declinare nel campo automobilistico i segreti dell’accoglienza italiana: buongusto, calore e generosità. Infatti, secondo la Giuria internazionale, 'con la Musa la Lancia entra nel campo dei piccoli monovolume con un veicolo multifunzionale versatile dalle linee morbide e dall'allestimento raffinato'. Del resto, la sua forma e i suoi contenuti vogliono ricreare un’atmosfera tipica dell’Italia, quel misto di eleganza e informalità, di attenzione e disinvoltura, di lusso e naturalezza capace di mettere tutti a proprio agio. Inoltre, Lancia Musa è una vettura nata senza l’obbligo di appartenere a una categoria precisa. Si presenta come una compatta, ma con quei centimetri in più che creano una sensazione di ariosità. Alfa GT ha vinto il premio “L’Automobile più Bella del Mondo” nella categoria “coupé e coupé-cabriolet”. Questa la motivazione: 'Riaffermazione della pura linea italiana dei coupé sportivi che appaga il piacere della guida con forme morbide e seducenti'. Il nuovo coupé sportivo disegnato dal Centro Stile di Bertone in collaborazione con il Centro Stile Alfa Romeo si è imposto con tredici punti; un modello dalla linea originale che preannuncia il piacere di una guida sportiva nel pieno rispetto della tradizione del marchio. Derivata dall’Alfa 156, Alfa GT racchiude tutto il patrimonio di eccellenza motoristica Alfa Romeo in una linea nata dall’eleganza e dal gusto della scuola italiana. Del resto, gli stilisti hanno potuto attingere alla grande eredità dell’Alfa Romeo che, proprio in questa categoria, ha dato vita a modelli rimasti come tappe fondamentali nella storia dell’automobile: dalla 1900 SS alla Giulietta Sprint, dall’Alfetta alla Giulia Sprint GT. In particolare, proprio quest’ultima vettura condivide con il nuovo coupé lo stesso carattere sportivo, le linee affusolate e morbide, la grande eleganza italiana. La cerimonia di consegna dei premi si terrà a marzo 2005 presso la Triennale di Milano.

                                            Tης αστυνομίας είναι ct και ναί έχω οδηγήσει την activa όμως που έχει τον ίδιο κινητήρα
