Έχω βρεθεί σε έναν αγώνα IRC και δεν είδα καμία διαφορά στα μέτρα ασφαλείας των θεατών και των πληρωμάτων από το WRC.

Το ατύχημα έγινε μετά από γρήγορη στροφή, εκεί που ποτέ δεν ξέρεις πού θα καταλήξει το αγωνιστικό. Απέφυγα να το γράψω στην αρχή, αλλά το συγκεκριμένο βίντεο πιστεύω ότι πρέπει να το δουν όλοι οι θεατές ράλλυ, οι περισσότεροι από τους οποίους νομίζουν ότι είναι ασφαλείς αν είναι ανεβασμένοι σε ένα βραχάκι ενός μέτρου 30 ή 40 μ. μετά από την έξοδο μιας στροφής 5ης ή 6ης. Ένα αγωνιστικό που φεύγει με αυτή την ταχύτητα, αν δεν προσκρούσει κάπου με δύναμη (οπότε την έχει βαμμένη το πλήρωμα), χρειάζεται ΠΑΡΑ πολλά μέτρα για να σταματήσει.

things look really bad for organizers now. It's too easy to blame them and of course not every place can be covered by tapes but the court will not think that way, You know...

Although being very well known place with many hi-speed crisis the area where the spectator died was not marked as restricted and there was no tape there. It could look safe as it is exactly 150 meters after the bump and on a 2 meters high bank on the inner side but with that speed (Kopecký was in rpm limiter some 20 meters after bump) it's just a fraction of time to get there. All standing spectators managed to run away but that one was sitting on the ground.

There used to be a chicane before the bump. It was removed in 2010 when Barum organization decided not to use chicanes almost at all. The drivers association which usually asks for chicanes in our championship (some their members checking stages before the event) once asked for many chicanes from which several turned to be a disaster (like the on on Troják 2009 where several crews crashed).** Since then Barum organization almost stopped communication with them (better to say they speak only with some members). Moreover the co-driver of Kopáček is chairman of the drivers association and one of those complaining!** So You can be sure they won't cover rally organizers.

As it was already third deadly accident this year something must happen and here there is someone to blame so I'm afraid an evil hunt will start soon. Pity it's with a rally which has generally higher spectator safety standards than any other I have ever been.

Of course the real problem is that our stages are generally very dangerous (thanks to that also very spectacular I think) but that can hardly be changed...
