Συγγνώμη παιδιά που τα έγραψα στα αγγλικά. Αλλα το έγραψα πρώτα για τους φίλους στο Prelude Club. Και βαριέμαι να τα ξαναγράφω.

So I went by my friends at Honda Saturday morning. And was given the opportunity to test-drive two cars.

      -2007 3rd Gen CR-V (Top Model)
      -2007 Element SC

Nancy was with me, which was great cause I got to see a woman’s view and her views period cause we are buying within the year. Either to upgrade the current CR-V we have or to add to our cars if we have the room pending our possible move.

      3rd Gen 2007 CR-V (Top Model)

      Drive:

Didn’t feel any different from the 2nd Gen in power (I have taken the 2nd Gen for a few spins and know). Well it kept the same K24 engine with some bump in power.

Cornering was great. I pushed it around a few turns and ramps. What did you expect? They dropped it in clearance from the previous two generations.

Acceleration was somewhat ok. I did expect a great bump compared to the other two older models but it wasn’t there.

Well, not much more to say about the drive. Nothing changed. Only good thing is they did increase the outside wheel diameter size so if needed for guys like me that play in the mud or need a car for their construction sites there is an All Terrain tire option now. Something I have been struggling to get my hands on with my current CR-V.

      Interior:

DAMN. Hats off to Honda. They really stepped it up. For a minute I thought I was in some top line luxury car.

This one had all the rings and bells. Navigation (SWEET), Leather seats, temp gauges, the works.

Plus. Navigation. Much more room and finally a solid center console. Room was much bigger then the previous two generations. I liked everything but one aspect. Minus. Front seats to low. I felt like I was driving in an accord or an Acura TL. If I buy a truck/crossover/SUV, I expect to be sitting high on top of everything.

      Looks:

I can’t get over the rear ¼ panel and window. I like the rest. I see a HUGE facelift within the next 2 years.

      **
      2007 Element SC**

Now this is Hondas attempt to produce a supped up model from the factory. In my eyes they did it. 10/10 for that effort.

      Drive:

We took the Element after we took out the CR-V. Nancy had already fallen in love with the CR-V and as a typical spoiled woman she didn’t even want to try the Element. Well she drove for a few minutes and couldn’t wait to pass it on to me. I told my friend (Sales Person) I’m going to beat the crap out of this one. God darned. That Element has balls baby. The motor (K24) sounded awesome for some reason in this car. Almost sounded like a stock H22 found in the Prelude.

At the first sign of understeer everything would shut down. I was like “What the Hell?” It had Traction Control on. Which is a great feature in this case cause the SC edition didn’t come in AWD. Hondas big mistake IMO.

The throttle was amazing. It responded at all my commands. Once TC was turned off I had a blast.

The Element SC vs. Element Normal is much lower with tuned suspension and comes with lower profile sport tires wrapping 18” awesome looking factory Honda rims. Hats off to Honda here. This box on 4 wheels could corner better then a factory Civic Sedan. It was awesome. It outperformed the CR-V in cornering and fun factor for sure. Element wins over the CR-V here. HUGE MINUS: needs AWD.

      Interior:

Definitely much more room over the CR-V. Much more improved over the normal Elements. Added new solid center console was a good call. The bezel rings were nice. Didn’t like the added carpet. I like the Normal waterproof floor and seats from the normal version over the SC. It’s no CR-V in luxury here that for sure. That’s where Nancy changed here mind. The CR-V interior got her. CR-V wins this battle.

      Looks:

Plus: Dayemn. Who thought a Element could look so good. All plastic parts are painted. New colours. From weird gunmetal’s to bronze. It’s lowered. Sits on 18” rims. New front face and low lip.

      Minus: No sunroof option.

      Nancy’s Overall Opinion:

She came into this with her heart set on the Element SC. After taking out the both for a ride she changed her mind. Biggest seller was the CR-V’s interior. I agree with her here. It was sweet.

      Final Outcome:

I can’t live with the CR-V’s ¼ panel. I like the Element but need AWD. Bad call on Hondas part not to add it on the SC.

I always had my heart set on the Ridgeline. Problem was Nancy wanted the next car to be hers and not a hand-me-down. (99 CR-V).

But we can’t have my wife zooming around in a new Ridgeline and me in an old CR-V. That’s just wrong.

Nancy and I have taken the Ridgeline out last month and we both liked it. In black that truck looks sweet.

So we started the sales pitch with my buddy’s at the dealership. She said ok to the idea of the Ridgeline as long as she gets to drive it when we are together.
